Call of Duty: Black Ops

It seems all the recent rumors of the next title in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops are true. Robert Bowling, fourzerotwo, leaked some information about Black Ops a few weeks in his podcast. Many people were wondering if it was pertaining to next Call of Duty title. Well as of last week it was confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released on November 2010.

Though the new game will come out 10/9/10, it has also been announced that Infinity Ward will not be making it, instead Treyarch, creators of World at War and Call of Duty 3, will be designing the game. Many people were wondering what this would mean to Activision as Treyarch is not associated with Activision, well Activision and Treyarch signed a 10-year partnership with Treyarch so they could produce the new game. Other major questions are yet to be answered as this has just been released.

One Man Army

There have been some major exploits done in MW2, but all have been glitch unitl now.  One man army, a perk alownig the user to switch classes during gameplay, pro version-faster swaps.  People have been using noob tubes(grenade launchers) with OMA and are learning how to shoot their noob tubes in "hot zones."  You may think this is harmless and will never get any kills, but the person can get a flawless by standing in one spot or even get a nuke by standing where they spawn.  This has been a problem unlike scavenger because the person doesn't need to move, just bring out OMA and pick their class.

Some of the more popular MW2 community players have started protesting the use to OMA or to update the game to limit this perk.  We will have to see what #fourzerotwo, Rober Bowling Infinaty Wards Community director and game designer, will do about this problem and how they will fix this.

The new maps will include: Bail Out: a multi-level complex (large map); Storm: an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery (small map); and Salvage: a snowy junkyard filled with stacked debris and crushed cars (medium map). It will also include Crash and Overgrown from COD4. There is also talk that there may be new guns released with this DLC but this has not yet been confirmed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2: Possible Subscription

Activision has found themselves down $286 million. This problem is from customers not buying the Guitar Hero games.

Activision, also the publisher for World of Warcraft, a subscription-based MMORPG, has made $15 a month from over 11.5 million players. Seeing that a subscription-based game has already been successful, Activision has considered doing this to the Call of Duty series before their lost of money, so now this would be a no-brainer right? We will find out if Activision comes out with this subscription-based game when their new Call of Duty game comes out later this year.
